Theres a certain love, bordering on obsession, that must go hand in hand with sport. It's dedication, bordering on fanaticism. A focus that overcomes your sensibilities. A fire that burns hot and deep and long. You know your talents, your abilities, the prize that waits just beyond the 200-meter line, and, somehow, you overcome the pain, the heat, the lack of desire, the sheer, stultifying boredom, to reach across space and time and put yourself at the head of the pack- just at the moment you have to be at the head of the pack.
